Gareth,

US dealers are selling the 718 with the UT-106 DSP unit for $549 (after $50 mail in rebate).  Not sure if Canadian dealers are doing the same. You should be able to pick up a CW filter for about $100.  Together substantially less than a new 706MKIIG
