[ICOM] Sick IC706MK2G Reciever

Most likely:  (At least my guess!!)   At least one, and probably two, of 
the Filter Unit relays are bad.  Either the relay itself is defective, 
or the RF chokes in the relay lead have opened, so that DC switching 
voltage does not close the relay.  The relay for the 1.5 mhz band is 
probably closed continually. 

I have been working on this problem in my original 706.  Over a period 
of months, three of the relays have gone bad.  I now hear 40 CW signals 
around 3985!  That is because the relays are not switching properly. 

Solution?  Replace the indicated relays (you will need to identify which 
ones, from the schematic) and check that the voltage to the relay coil 
is actually present. 

This is the bandpass filter unit board, and you may can just replace the 
entire board.
