Hi John,

You may need to put little insulating washers over the filter pins.
Occasionally, the case seals of the pins short out the tracks on the PCB.
You can verify this by pulling the filter up 1 mm or so in its socket.

Incidentally, your little pkg. arrived today. Many thanks.

Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Subject: [ICOM] FL52A problem-additional details

Here are some additional details about the problem I am having with the
FL52A filter in my Icom 756. There seems to be a large amount of insertion
loss on receive. When I put the filter in line I can hear only the loudest
signals on the band, and only at max volume. However, the filter is doing
something, because I do get a little more signal that just the blowby from
the FL100. I took out the FL52A, told the software that it was still there,
and put the "nonexistant" filter in line. Didn't hear anything. So, the
filter is passing some signal, but just with a large insertion loss.

Is this consistent with some of the pins not making contact, or does it
sound like the filter is damaged? Never had this problem with a filter
before.

73s John NE0P
