The 775DSP (with one of the latest European serial numbers) still is my
favorite rig. It has a remarkable good receiver with an excellent sound and
very solid and easy to use controls.
I had the 756ProII side-by-side for a few months and I sold this rig because
of the IMHO digital sounding receiver. Perhaps this is not very important
when you use digital modes and CW. But for SSB I very much prefer rigs like
the 775DSP with analoge crystal filters, which are most useful for TX too. I
did a lot of comparisons between the 775DSP and the 756ProII. The excellent
audio reports (RX as well as TX) were enough convincing, together with the
better ergonomics of the 775DSP.
I still have the IC-7400 (= IC-746Pro) to carry along, 50 MHz and 144
MHz/all-mode.
