Hans, I agree with your opinion 100%. I only wanted to add that
digital sounding receiver is as bad for pulling weak CW signals as it
is for SSB. The best DSP radio that I have used was ORION. Its very
good dynamic range is a great plus in the city. But ORION turned out
to be far behind IC775 when operating from 8Q7 trying to pull out
weak signals from the pile up of stations the strongest of which was
at S3 level. So if I had to pick only one rig for everything I would
take either IC765 (which I have now) or IC775. The only thing that I
am missing in IC775 is true dual receive like it is done in FT1000
series or in ORION.
