Hi,
I picked up an ICOM IC-756 Pro III at Dayton and am trying to integrate it into my shack.
I usually run (2) radios (1000MP and 1000MP Mk V) into 5 separate antennas controlled by an Array Solution 6 Pack and (2) IBS-1 Band Decoders. All work beautifully together.
However, when I put the IC 756 Pro III in line, I can't get the IBS-1 to see the radio or vice versa. I tried changing the baud rates (1200, 9600 and Auto) in the ICOM without success. I use audio cables with 1/8" plugs on both ends to connect the
IBS-1 and the Pro III via an ICOM CT-17. My logging program sees the Pro III without difficulty.
I don't have much documentation on the IBS-1 and cannot see an obvious way to determine what baud rate is currently set up. The fact that the Yaesu gear works well suggests that there is nothing wrong with the IBS-1 itself and the logging program is obviously getting the band data from the Pro III.
Need some ideas from Pro III owners who have succeeded in getting their rigs to talk to band decoders, especially those who have RF Applications IBS-1's
Thanks,
Roger K8RS
