Lou,

Once the internal battery is fully recharged then do a CPU reset to get the 
R1 running again. The internal lithium battery is also rechargeable and it 
takes its charge from the internal battery once it is charged.
Hold the FUNC and CL buttons while powering up the R1. This will reset the 
CPU and get it going.
