They might also be setting up the market and price point scenario for the
706 replacement. The replacement could maybe come in at the $1K point.
This might help alleviate the current constant dialog issues as is being
felt with PRO II vs. PRO III sales (should I spend the extra money,
etc.). Of course, it people don't buy into the $950 price, dealers are
going to left holding the bag with a lot of MKIIG's on their shelves even
before the replacement comes out. If this happens, we, as consumers would
probably reap the benefits later on, as dealers engage in price wars and
give-away incentives, to move the older material out.
