Congratulations.  I was not going to reply to this at all, leaving for work
in minutes.  But I did want to tell you well-done, not many will dig into
their radios anymore.  I am one of the few in this town - and I have all the
work I can handle.  Got so I refused to touch the Y of K brands, still not
enough time.  So be careful who you tell about your repair successes
locally.  <grin>

I have downloaded and printed many service manuals.  I am not sure if I have
the 706MK-I manual.  No time to check right now either.  I do have a MK-I
though.

Again, good bit of troubleshooting.  Well - getting over a cold here, but it
is off to the power plant for me.
