I don't remember any factory mods for poor 2 meter receive, 6 meter
selectivity etc. I know the 2 meter receive was dependent upon use of the
preamp.
Don't remember complaints about 6 meters other than once in a while a diode
or transistor would fail thus locking the 6 meter bandpass filter in for
all HF bands.
I do remember cutting the yellow wire to disable receive filter switching
so used could hear the U.S. National Weather Service broadcasts on and
around 162.550 MHz, there are 10 different frequencies the NWS uses actually.
