[ICOM] Got a bit sidetracked.

Greetings again one and all,

A short while ago I posted a message concerning the original 706 and what
were it's deficiencies or faults - as I am thinking of buying one.

I should have been a little more blunt I guess at what I was looking to hear
about.  I meant what faults showed up under the hood ie, poor receive on 2m,
poor audio on 2m,  poor selectivity on 6m etc, etc.  (These are just
examples I made up not real problems!!!!)

As I had stated, I have heard a rumour that a lot of fixes were released for
the first model to patch up the rough areas but don't know this first hand
of course.  The discussion seemed to get carried away with the cooling fan
noise and which way the preamp was operated.

Hope this clarifies my initial question,

P.S. - I do own an original 706 in my mobile, goes well,  I purchased it
second hand and by the time I got it had all the mods done..........but
what???

So I want to know if anything I need to fix in the next one if it hasn't
been done already..
