Warren,
Here is a suggestion that may address the signal generator issue. Do you or a
friend have another 2M rig, even an HT, that can transmit at 145.000? You could
run that rig into a dummy load and use no antenna on your rig. The idea is to
get a weak but copyable signal on your '275H. Of course a transceiver will not
be as accurate as a signal generator but it is worth trying. The accuracy of
your DMM will also play a part in the equation.
The way I look at it, for $125, I would give it a try. Make a note of the
voltage before touching L23 so you will have a reference point. Make your
adjustment and then see if the scanner works.
