Earl, that is a lot of compression....  I use the SM-20 with the Pro and my mic gain is 9 o'clock and COMP OFF and MID.  ALC is just moving ... which is desireable.  What does your meter show for compression?

I have heard some that use a lot of compression and the audio sounds almost muffled...but you cannot tell them that...

Interesting stuff....this audio...!
