Hi Jim, my buddy also has the same rig. While we were talking, his signal
would cut on and off. He traced it to the mike switch. Think he put some
contact cleaner on it and it is working now. Here is another recommendation
from a
fellow ham when I asked the same question for my buddy: "Reflow the solder
connection on the circuit board. Build it up a little if possible. I did
this for a friend on his V8K-same mic, and has worked well for over a year
since.
And it gets a lot of exercise . 73 & GL Rick." I have a Kenwood 2 meter
rig and all of a sudden the audio will go out but still keys the radio.
Perhaps, the microphone is the Achilles heel. Best regards, Dave, NC6P
