[ICOM] IC-775DSP - KeyerHELP PSE wiring idea

Malcom,
Unless I missed it, you have not identified the type of VibroPlex keyer you
have. Is it a VibroKeyer? A quick "Google" turned up the following site with
a picture of the VibroKeyer:
http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/morse/4055.html
Is the pictured keyer the one you have? If so, it is a single lever paddle
intended to be used with an electronic keyer to produce both automatic "dits"
and "dahs". I use one on my '775. It sends automatic "dits" to the right and
automatic "dahs" to the left. There is no setting for the manual "dah" mode
you describe. My menu settings are the same as Hans uses.
I don't understand why you would want to manually produce the "dahs" and
automatically produce the "dits" when using an electronic keyer but I agree
with the split cable suggestion provided by Larry. If you use this approach I
would wire up a "Y" cable with a mono plug for the manual jack and a stereo
plug for the electronic keyer jack so you can easily determine the proper
connections. The two plugs would terminate in a stereo jack so you can use the
existing plug on the keyer.
