Randy,
Could be they are no longer producing them as I remember that LCD
replacement unit was something close to $ 1000.00.
I am not aware of any CRT burn in unit. Did you purchase that from Icom? I
had only ever saw the techs replace the entire CRT unit.
Might be time to read up on cathode ray tubes and the proper care and
feeding of the phosphorus or what chemical is used to make the CRT operate
these days.
Might be something like the burn in unit cycles the tube and makes sure the
tube is active, something like reforming electrolytic caps in old radios
that have not been powered on for a long time.
Others here that are better versed in CRT 's may help. I never got into
video displays.

>Gary , I have been told that Icom America does not have anymore of them in
>stock. The OM on ebay was installing the same Toshiba LCD in 781,s and
>R9000,s for around $500.00. I emailed with him a couple of times , He said
>he was getting a lot of orders but since then I have lost his email address

>Also I purchased several replacement CRT ,s and also purchased a CRT "Burn
