Gary , I have been told that Icom America does not have anymore of them in
stock. The OM on ebay was installing the same Toshiba LCD in 781,s and
R9000,s for around $500.00. I emailed with him a couple of times , He said
he was getting a lot of orders but since then I have lost his email address
and he does not advertise on ebay anymore. I have two R9000L,s , two R9000,s
and a couple of IC-781,s . I am not having any problems , I keep the
brightness settings at around 9:00 on both type of units but I am tinkering
with the idea of changing out the CRT display in one of my 781,s to LCD.
Also I purchased several replacement CRT ,s and also purchased a CRT "Burn
in unit" for them. Is this burn in unit really needed ? I was told that if I
dont run the CRT through a cycle with this unit the CRT will not last as
long. 73 , Happy Thanksgiving de Randy N5WV
