[ICOM] Interfacing Yaesu FT-1000 MKV Field to Icom PW-1

Auto operation of the PW-1 requires availability of the CI-V remote
interface to get frequency information so auto operation would require some
kind of a converter from Yaesu computer interface to Icom. Don't know
whether these exist or not.

I checked the service manual and the send lines on the PW-1 rear panel are
at logic levels, positive voltage. I don't know how Yaesu switches PTT but
these levels certainly wouldn't bother even the tiniest relay.

Subject: [ICOM] Interfacing Yaesu FT-1000 MKV Field to Icom PW-1

Has anyone interfaced a late model Yaesu rig (e.g., FT-1000 MKV Field) to
the PW-1 for manual or automatic operation? From the PW-1 documentation it
seems "relatively" straight forward for manual operation, although 13.8v
needed from the exciter to the PW-1 accessory socket to use the amp's
antenna switch. Is there a simple way to convert the Yaesu band data to
Icom so the amp can read it for auto operation?

Finally, do the late model Yaesu rigs require a SEND relay to work with this
amp?

thanks,
