Randy,

I checked the software used to program the IC-208 from a PC computer and
it does allow (in the software) switching to AM mode in the area you
describe. I'll try it on the radio tomorrow and see if it actually does
go into AM when the program is loaded into the radio.

> Hi Group , Does anyone know if the Icom IC-208 can be switched to the AM mode while receiving out of the Amateur Bands ? It receives in the standard VHF ranges but also receives from about 230mhz to around 900mhz. It needs to be switched to AM for the 230-400mhz range to be of any use as a receiver. Thanks , Randy N5WV
