As for used gear I've been 'taken' once or twice, but usually most used gear
is sorta represented sorta honestly - sorta. If you are not prepared for it
to have *something* wrong, then for a lot of folks, used gear is simply
false
economy. I strongly recommend buying used gear only from a trusted source
unless you are well versed in what to look for. Used radios are like buses -
another one will appear in 15 minutes.

I have had interesting experiences with selling used gear. In the last 5
years or so, I have sold a 775 DSP ( still miss that radio ) , a 756, a 781,
and a 756 Pro--all in mint 10 condition at very good prices. I've never had
any problem with requiring payment in advance although I have to confess
that I'm not sure I personally would take that chance! :-)  Never had any
complaints on any of the radios though.
