Hi Bill, all,
I have a HS706 and have not encountered the problem with the
connector. What I do have is RF getting into the system somewhere while in
the vehicle and shutting down the radio. I usually use it on trips. Last
time on the way to Raleigh, NC it worked great, but on the return trip it
kept getting RF in and shutting down. Lower power out did not make it
better. Putting on the stock mike did. I haven't used it since that trip
and now that the weather is getting warmer I will put the set in the
vehicle and try to stop the RF with ferrite & coils. The antennas are
Hamsticks for 10/15/40 on a 3 mag mount that has worked fine with the stock
mic for several years before acquiring the HS706, which I do like. Any advice?
