I have an FL-232 350 Hz filter that I use in my 706MKIIG for RTTY mode. Now
I'd like to use it in USB mode for PSK occasionally. I read somewhere how
to "fake out" the 706 so that I can use my FL-232 in SSB mode. I was going
to ask exactly how to do that here, but I figured it out. I decided to make
the post anyway in case it helps someone else.
In the setup options (powerup while depressing the LOCK button), Option #9
is the filter selection - Tell it you have the SSB narrow filter FL-223 (1.9
KHz). This will let you then select the "narrow" filter when in SSB mode.
Since the only filter really installed is the FL-232, it finds that and you
get the narrower 350 Hz bandwidth.
