Here in Central and Southern Africa some of these units are used by
commercial operators (?)
and question is would ICOM cover the warranty if something goes wrong
when units are used out of ham bands( HF commercial freq's) ?

Also some of the hams in the Southern African region run businesses for
which they have commercial HF licence and in most cases the use one radio
like IC-706MKIIG to cover both ham + commercial freq's.

Question is really about some of the internal circuits of 706 ...the low
pass ( TX) and band pass (RX) filter circuits and maybe ALC circuit etc .

Are they designed to cover the whole 3-30Mhz ( or only in segments).

If they are not designed for the whole 3-30 band than maybe TX current rises
higher as well as TX power
when operating on certain freq's out of ham bands ( HF ) ?
This is what I would like to find about .

I am waiting for a reply from ICOM Japan as well regarding this and will let
you know .
