Hi OM,
Slightly off the topic, I consider that a rig with general full coverage TX
function is a piece of good signal generator for repairing work. When I
need a good RF signal source for radio repairing work, I use my rigs
(installed with TCXO) as the signal generator (of course, you need an
attenuater to reduce the signal level). My QRP FT817 (not ICOM this time)
now becomes my RF sig gen. on my bench because this little rig gives me a
very good frequency coverage and does not need a huge attenuator.
