[Icom] Re Icom R-8500

I just received a new Icom R-8500 rx as part of an insurance settlement. I need
to know how to install the UT-102 speech module and where the RF Gain
knob/control is at. They guy who read me the front panel could not find any RF
Gain, which stuck me as odd. Is it an automatic function, or?

If somebody will describe how to install the UT-102 speech module, please have
them do it from the perspective of the rx in front of them, right side up 
and be
specific as to left, right, front and back.
