Sorry to jump in so late, I hope this thread is still alive.
On the recommendation of a buddy, I did this even cheaper. I bought a pair
of 30 amp 110 volt in-line power connectors at Home Depot. Something like $5
or less each. I use the 3-prong ones with the two blades that are
purpendicular to each other so you can't accidentally plug the radio into a
standard 110v outlet that has the parallel blades. Super cheap, easy to
find, and work great.
