Sorry David, but at $10 a pair for the 120 VAC, 30 Amp connectors that you
purchased at Home Depot, you could have bought 10 PAIR of the Anderson
PowerPole 30 Amp connectors, for only $9, for all 10 pair of connectors.
Check out: http://www.dcpwr.com/standard.html and follow the links for
pricing and specs.
The Anderson website is: http://www.andersonpower.com/products/pp/sp.html
The are extremely reliable, very inexpensive, and have become the ARES
standard connectors in many parts of the US. These connectors are widely
used by UPS manufacturers where reliability is mandatory. According to the
DC Power website, the Anderson PowerPole has become the ARRL standard
connector.
The Anderson PowerPole is a Genderless design, that prevents connectors from
being mated incorrectly. The connectors can be stacked in any numbers of
rows and columns for color coded multi-contact connections. The connector
pins can be crimped easily with a common "Sta-Con" or Electrician's type of
crimping tool.
