Dana, Carl, Jim and Van,

Thanks a lot for those informative and prompt reply. I
wish I could carry a battery. Unfortunately I cant, as
it is a trip for work and there is a lot of underwater
gear, dive equipments, camping gear, camera gear and
stuff to be carried on our small research vessel that
is going to ferry us to the island. Being the only ham
I cant really justify carrying an additional 15 kg
plus for the hobby! ;-( Looks like I can run atleast
50W on the little gen set. I am carrying a switching
power supply so voltage drop may not be a real
concern.

Thanks again and looking forward to catching some of
you good folks on air.
