Hi Greg, thanks a "MEG" for the info I feel that is the way I would like to
go.
    Just got off the phone with a ham who has a damaged 4KL  and knows the
power supply is working and lil test he did just to see what he got saw abt
500 wts out and never did check to see if full out put was there so I do
have a bite and he is willing to sell me just the power supply parts I need
at a very good price too.
   So at least I feel lil better after hearing price from Icom.
    I have to check on the sony thing too thats interesting too.
