This topic (switching power supply) was discussed 
several months back.  I believe that an amatuer found 
the Sony? source for Icom of this supply.  It was 
cheaper - but I never saw the final outcome.  I have 
seen other 4KL amplifiers that were damaged in shipping 
(virtually had no case - but were working) - that have 
been advertised on the reflector or QTH.NET
