Hi,
My suggestion is to examine the wire lead where it eminates from the fuel
pump. There will probably be 2 leads, one of which is grounded. Disconnect
the battery, cut the hot lead and put a coaxial capacitor in series with it.
Be sure to use heavy lugs since brakeage will leave you stranded. Scrape all
the chassis sealer from the point where you mount the cap and check for
anything on the other side of the chassis that might get snagged when you
drill the mounting hole. Run some braid from the mounting bolt to another
good chassis ground nearby, being sure to clean the contact area once again.
Insulate both hot lead connections with
COAX SEAL, RTV or similar sealant. If possible, use cable clamps as an
additional support for the lead on both sides of the capacitor. Reconnect
the battery and check it out.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.
