[Icom] 746 vs 746 Pro...?

I've been looking at the 746 for a while; while doing so,
the 746 Pro was released.  I've read the QST reports, old
posts here, and various other materials...but would
appreciate any thoughts from the folks here...I think the
way to put the question is "is there a reason to buy a 746
in preference to a 746 Pro?"

The obvious points are cost (about half again) and the
benefits of the 746 Pro's DSP.  I was thinking that the cost
difference would be offset by the cost of buying filters for
the 746, but -- I don't tx or rx CW much -- I'm not so sure,
after reading a lot of user comments on the 746.

All thoughts, opinions, and the like gratefully received.
