[Icom] IC746 PRO

Hi All
I am contemplating buying an IC746PRO. I have read reports of irregularities
with the screen showing green/brown segments on the frequency/display. Can
anyone confirm or deny these allegations. I have read some disturbing
reports of things not working straight out of the box. Has the quality
control been missing in the earlier models (756 screen lines) or is it still
the same or have these problems been rectified. Is there an after serial
number where these problems have been fixed to buy. Any information via the
reflector or privately gratefully received. Thanks Morrie ZL2AAA
