In referring to the distance between the tuner and the whip ( or ANY
antenna) keep it as close as possible. Try to not get any further apart than
12 inches- or even closer. That is the one secret to making these auto
tuners work efficiently.

I just tested the new Stealth Kit from SGC operating from a motel room with
a 26 feet wire in an inverted VEE configuration out the window. It worked
beautiful with reports as good or better than stations replying to me. I
recommend at least checking out them. The newer ones are very small and easy
to install and not as pricey.
