Hi,
That is good and bad. Mixed feeling on my part.
I passed Extra test in K land, hold old advanced and digital tickets in
VE land.
Also 1st class ticket back in my home country, HL land(my old call was
HM1AY).
Full previledge calls for proper qualifications. For a ham who can't
even cut a
simple dipole antenna for his operating band, what does full previledge
gonna do?
Poor operating skills/procedures can be a embarrasment on the air some
times.
Novice band in K land was not meant to be that. That is a stepping stone
for upper
class. I used to teach new ham class, theory, code and all. I quit after
a few years.
got tired of doing everything for them. They wanted me to install
antenna for them,
fix broken radio from misuse for them, non-ending phone calls day and
night for this and
that. Weren't interested in doing it themselves with my help. Just
wanted me to do all for them.
I got tired of it and quit. I don't even belong to local club any more.
Sorry for the non-ICOM rant.

Tony, VE6CGX
