Clete, are you *really* sure of that? I thought that as an amateur I can
have about any radio I wish in my possession, modified, commercial, or
whatever.
What I can *not* do is to operate that radio outside an amateur band or
within an amateur band in a manner contrary to Part 97.
The sin is in the operation, not in the possession.
Would you mind giving us the Part 97 reference for your statement?
