Go for it... you'll love it!  I run no processing other than that in the 
706 and barely at that.  I am not a DX chaser, but the audio is clean, 
clear and LOUD.

The 528E I hope you bought used!  I know there are a lot of them 
available now since there are newer units coming out to replace them. 
They are great units.
I wish I hadn't tossed all the old CBS Volumax's that I once had. I 
heard someone running one the other day.

 The helicopter jack and plug are great too.
