It's amazing how people vary in how they see the rigs. Here's my two cent=
s:

I own an IC-756Pro (not II, but I think the difference in CW is not that =
big).=20
I do a lot of QSK at around 25 to 35 WPM.=20

Three weeks ago I was operating a FT-1000MP MkV during the ARRL 10m conte=
st,=20
in CW (at LX5A); longer ago I worked some CW from IH9P with a 1000MP.=20

After using my 756Pro for several years I really hated the sound of the=20
FT-1000, both the MP and MP MkV. QSK is nearly impossible, just because o=
f=20
the sound of the AGC pumping and filter ringing. Probably I didn't set it=
 up=20
properly, but I tried a lot with slow/fast AGC, various filters, EDSP and=
=20
what the rigs had to offer. All to no avail, I just didn't like the sound=
=2E I=20
used my personal headphones in all cases.

To me the sound of the DSP filters of the 756Pro are unbeatable in CW. Th=
e=20
performance of a 100Hz-DSP filter during a contest is much better than th=
e=20
classical 250Hz CW filter of the FT-1000.

Don't get me wrong - the FT-1000MP (and MkV) is a great rig, fantastic=20
receiver etc., it's just the CW sound which would stop me from buying it.
