Hello Kenneth,
I have both rigs (the Mark V with Inrad filters for 1-1/2 year and the ProII
for more then 1/2 a year) and I do a lot of CW. When I compare these two
rigs I hear some differences, but they are not as significant as you write
about the known DX-er. When this would be the case I surely did'nt keep
them...
As I wrote before on this reflector; in most of the cases it is "the feeling
through the eyes of the operator" which influence/affect the comparison
between rigs. Both the ProII and the Mark V are EXCELLENT rigs on CW and
other modes.
There may be some problems when you use QSK in combination with QRQ; AGC
pumping and distortion of the first sign. Please ask Lou W7DZN about this;
he is a very good CW-operator with a lot of experience.
You are always welcome to drop by and listen for yourself im my shack.
Good luck and all the best!
73, Hans Remeeus.
