Dear Ron,
I am part of an HF 300 baud packet network on 20m (Network 105) and
wondered if you knew of anyone who would be willing to try connecting to
us as an experiment?
There's no need to formally join anything or coordinate a sked but for
anyone interested in trying to reach us here are the parameters we use:
MARK: 14103.43 KHz
SPACE: 14103.23 KHz
HBAUD: 300
PACLEN: 60
MAXFRAME: 1
FRACK: 5
There are many nodes throughout the continental US and Canada usually
implemented as Kantronics KA or K-NET nodes though we have a number of
JNOS/TNOS nodes and world wide AMPRNET links often available thru a
secondary port. Many nodes also have direct telnet access such as VE1AMA
telnet://ve1ama.ampr.org
We currently have 3 West Coast HF nodes:
Myself, K7TMG-7 - Eastern WA state
Bill, KL7IDA-7 - 150 miles S of Fairbanks, AK
Don, KC6OAR-7 - Phelan, CA.
Our system of SSID's are these:-
-0 or absent: Keyboard QSO
-1: Personal mailbox
-2: Gateway digipeating, often onto local VHF.
-7: Node
-10: WL2K
The purpose of the network is not for mail forwarding or APRS but for
operator to operator QSOs and personal mail. There are also a number of
WL2K servers available. There's no need to digipeat as the nodes are far
more efficient.
The network was founded in 1986 by Burt, VE1AMA and has been in
continuous service since that time.
Please feel free to pass this email around between any interested stations.
Vry 73
Sholto
