Agreed. We (amateur citizens of Hawaii) need to contact our Senators
Akaka and
Inouye and press for parallel Senate support. If a senate bill hasn't
been created,
we should press for it.
I know Senator Akaka is personally familiar with amateur
radio involvement with Hurricane Iniki, as I personally spoke with him
at the
SCD bunker immediately after Iniki. I believe it was the Sunday
morning, 9/13/92.
If Senator Akaka is your senator, please remind him of it. He might be
inclined to
sponsor it. I believe his district includes Kauai.
