I have a Henry 2KD (1986 vintage) that has been acting up for quite some
time.
I have a couple of questions regarding how the amp is built/wired up versus
what the schematic says.
1. In the output circuit immediately after the parasitic supressors and DC
blocking caps , switch S1C manipulates contacts to add in shunt doorknob
caps.
Based on the schematic, parts location sheet and bill of materials, the
switch should work as follows with respect to the bandswitch position:
10M - 75pF shunt
15M - 75pF shunt
20M - 150pF shunt
40M - 225pF shunt
80M - 275pF shunt
Based on observing the component values, this is what that part of the amp
actually implements:
10M - 25pF shunt
15M - 25pF shunt
20M - 50pF shunt
40M - 125pF shunt
80M - 275pF shunt
The actual operating state makes more sense to me. I guess my question is:
Is my amp built right or is the documentation correct (i.e. my amp is
wrong)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
