This should work with nearly any reasonable complaint against
any reasonable retailer. I used to work as apprentice to my
father doing watch and clock repair. One day, he said
"You think your job is repairing watches and clocks."
I asked him what was my job then?
"Your job is to make friends out of everyone who walks through
that door. You make your money off of your friends and relatives,
not your enemies."
No one sale makes one a living. It may make some money, but not
a living. Only repeat business makes a living. Making enemies
out of customers makes one broke. We did many small jobs for no
charge, just to build trust and custom. I've replaced many a
spring bar (the little spring loaded bar which attaches the
band to the watch case) and reattached the band many a time
at no charge, for example.
Any good retailer is going to want to "fix" a damaged transaction,
even if it costs him something on the one transaction, in order
to build good rep.

You have found the bank of Larn.
I speak only for myself, and I am unanimous in that!
