[Heathkit] DX-20 T/R Switching?

Well, yes of course a knife switch would work (and maybe that is the only
reasonable option). But, even as a novice in 1960, a relay powered from the
auxiliary connector on the back of my Eico 723 didn't seem exactly high
tech. The setup was just like what I built for the DX-40. Switch to
"standby" and listen, switch to "CW" and transmit. The DX-20
standby/transmit switch evidently grounds the center-tap on the HV to
transmit. I'm wondering whether anyone has replaced this switch with a
double-pole, then used the other side to switch relay power. Actually,
somewhere I recall reading that the existing switch has extra contacts.
Maybe that is too much butchering, but after all these were kits in the
first place. Thoughts?
