[Heathkit] DX-20 T/R Switching?

The easiest way would be to replace the SPST "slide switch" which controls the transmit with a DPST or DPDT "slide switch". Use the second set of contacts to switch AC to an external antenna change over relay.

I believe that this is what I did with my original DX-20 that I modified for 6-meters (single wire!) back 50 years ago.

I built a relay box to switch antenna between transmit and receive for a recently acquired DX-40. Contemplating acquiring a DX-20, was surprised to notice it has no provision for providing switched power for a relay.  Never having owned any Heathkit transmitter in my old Novice days, am wondering how folks performed T/R switching with the DX-20 or AT-1?
