The 6293 is a direct replacement for the 6146 and 6146A/8298. However, the tube normally lasts from between 5 to 10 times longer than the 6146 family when operated using the same parameters. Back in the late 1950s into the 1960s most amateur radio operators would almost "kill" to get 6293 tubes for our DX-100s, Apaches, etc.

OK, I'll asked a question that some will think is dumb. But, is the 6239 a direct replacement for 6146's? Might be nice to know if I ever get my 101 back.
