Thanks for all the info on the SB-240.  I almost bid on it but decided 
that it was out of my league.

Like Peter, I expected it to go much higher.  The sale included a draft 
manual with handwritten notes.  Collectors call it "Prove-nance", 
written records, the proof of authenticity.

The images of the manual were educational.  So that's how Heath did it.

The value is there.

Figure you could use it on the air and not wear anything out.  It's a 
full power amp with 10 meters.  That in itself puts a lower limit on the 
  price.  Add in the rarity, history, and documentation.

What bragging rights!
