[Heathkit] Does Heathkit Still Exist?

  To all - This quote "When Heathkit closed down the town of Benton Harbor turned into an
impoverished slum" is absolutely false.  I do not know where this came from but certainly does not
have any basis of fact.  There are many reasons why Benton Harbor is not the city many of us
remember.  Heathkit (Heath Company's) closing down (sale to Zenth, etc.) did not cause Benton
Harbor's woes.
   
St. Joseph, Benton Harbor, and Niles along with several other small towns are all located in
Berrien county Michigan.  Yes, Heathkit Company is located in Benton harbor, near the St. Joseph
river in the old K-Mart building and still functions.  The old Heathkit facility at 211 Hilltop
Road now has many tenants including Lakeland Medical, Penske and Whirlpool.  Also, Whirlpool
bought the Zenith Data Systems engineering facility which was built across the street from 211
Hilltop.
   
In the future, if one is going to state facts, fine.  Opinions should be noted as 'opinion'. 
Hearsay is not flattering either.
