It's always a good idea to instruct the shipper regarding you
requirements for shipping, i.e remove final amplifier tubes from RF deck
and ship separately, doublebox items, insure for replacement cost, do
you have the sales receipt for insurance purposes, remove power
transformer ans ship separately, wrap equipment in plastic trash back to
prevent packing debry from entering the cabinet, etc. All these
stiputations are the responsiblity of the purchaser, not the seller.
Many hams are now retired, getting on in years, prolly have never
shipped anything before, don't have experience in selling or buying for
that matter.

Think about the worst case scenario, then communicate your questions
clearly to the seller, etc. This practice will eliminate disappointments
later on when the items are received. Lots of ham out there aren't
crooks, they just arent' experienced and don't know better. It's up to
the purchasers to protect their investments by laying out the shipping
requirements to the seller.

As far as the two additional holes in the side strap, I did not put any importance on them because they did not have any impact upon the performance of the amp and were not visible from the front. I have shipped a lot of equipment around this country, you are the first person to complain about the way it was packed, could the damage be because of the way the shipper handled the item. I don't plan to do any thing except notify the shipper that the item arrived damaged. You seem to be predisposed the this all my fault. About the manual, read the original description, I did not state there was a manual. It is very unfortunate that this happened. Frank."
