[Heathkit] AT-1 VFO to xtal input comments needed

In the old days, the common method of connecting a VFO to a crystal
controlled transmitter was to use a piece of 300 TV twin lead (the brown
stuff).  A junked FT-243 case was soldered to the twin-lead and plugged into
the transmitter.

> I propose to input the VF-1's rf output to the AT-1 in the followiing
manner:

> -Connect a 4" piece of RG-174 from the AT-1's vfo socket empty pins
directly to the crystal socket solder tabs.
> -Running another piece of RF-174 from the VF-1's power plug through the
shell and on the RF output connector of the VF-1.

> -What are the problems associated with leaving the inboard RG-174 and
going back to xtal control? This is a 4" piece of coax and I think I may
experience some frequency shift of the xtal
